VK Tech is preparing a unified AI Assistant for the VK WorkSpace platform, together with semantic search capabilities and an MCP server for connecting autonomous agents.
The update targets both small and medium businesses and large corporations. Corporate routine tasks are expected to gain a capable assistant, although rollout will proceed in stages.
The improved search will locate documents, emails, and messages by semantic meaning, even when employees cannot recall exact titles or wording. Video conferences will gain automatic transcription, topic extraction, decision logging, and task identification.
At the first stage, the AI Assistant will operate only within available user conversations in VK WorkSpace Messenger. Users will be able to ask questions in natural language and receive structured answers containing links to source messages and chats. The function is already available in the local On-Premise version and is scheduled to launch in the cloud SaaS edition in October.
Later, the assistant will extend to Mail, Disk, and Calendar. For example, a query such as “What was discussed about the project last week?” will aggregate information from chats, emails, meetings, and documents.
The assistant will not be granted unrestricted access to the entire corporate archive; permissions will be strictly limited by employee rights and company policies.
VK Tech also announced the addition of an MCP server. Through this server, AI agents will be able to search for information, prepare materials for meetings, and execute actions inside platform services. Agents created in VK AI Space will be supported. The MCP server will be included in VK WorkSpace On-Premise 26.3, while the cloud version is planned for October. Messenger access for agents will be enabled first, followed by Mail, Disk, and Calendar before the end of the year.
