The Russian Ministry of Digital Development plans to extend LTE mobile internet coverage to small settlements across the country by the end of 2030.
Minister Maksut Shadaev announced the timeline during a session in the State Duma, noting that the next significant wave of connections is scheduled for 2027, when another 1,800 settlements are expected to gain access.
Over the past six years, the program has already delivered LTE service to more than 8,000 localities with populations ranging from 100 to 1,000 residents.
The initiative includes construction of mobile network infrastructure to support everyday digital services, although the government has clarified that the goal does not imply signal coverage for every single point on the map.
Officials emphasize that results will be evaluated based on functioning base stations and stable connectivity rather than policy statements alone.
