F5 has published an out-of-band security advisory detailing multiple vulnerabilities affecting the nginx web server and related products. The advisory covers five vulnerabilities in the core open-source nginx package and six additional issues in associated components, bringing the total to eleven CVEs.
The flaws expose systems to risks including service denial, remote code execution, authentication bypass, and confidential data leakage. The official nginx project website currently rates the five core vulnerabilities as Medium severity.
In contrast, F5 evaluates three of the issues with a CVSS v4.0 base score of 9.2, classifying them as Critical. Specific examples include CVE-2026-15176, a heap buffer overflow in the ngx_http_core_module that occurs under particular URL rewrite and file-path reference configurations.
Additional CVEs listed in the advisory cover the map directive and regex matching (CVE-2026-93479), further ngx_http_core_module problems (CVE-2026-97205), the ngx_http_ssl_module (CVE-2026-97629), the ngx_http_v3_module (CVE-2026-95101), and two issues in the ngx_http_js_module (CVE-2026-101025 and CVE-2026-101019).
Related products are also affected: NGINX Gateway Fabric contains CVE-2026-91184 and CVE-2026-96615, while NGINX Ingress Controller is impacted by CVE-2026-94197 and CVE-2026-104939.
