On the morning of November 2, clients of Russian hosting provider Beget faced a large-scale outage that rendered websites, virtual servers, and management tools inaccessible. The disruption began around 04:50 Moscow time and quickly affected the control panel, personal accounts, VPS instances, email services, and DNS resolution.
Beget published initial updates in its official channel, describing the problem as complex and spanning all layers of its architecture. Engineers began manually configuring infrastructure inside data centers to restore functionality. Clients encountered 502 Bad Gateway errors and could not reach hosted websites or manage their virtual private servers.
The outage also impacted mail servers and the DNS system responsible for translating domain names into server addresses. Among the affected resources, observers noted the website of Russia’s mandatory product marking system Chestny Znak.
In subsequent statements, Beget confirmed that recovery efforts were ongoing but did not provide an estimated time for complete restoration. The company indicated that further updates would follow once technical details were verified. No information has been released regarding the root cause, and the provider has not confirmed any signs of unauthorized access, data leaks, or data destruction.
