Arista Networks has published a security advisory detailing a severe vulnerability in the on-premises edition of its Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator (VCO), a product designed for unified management of SD-WAN environments.

The flaw, identified as CVE-2026-16812, is an OS command injection vulnerability that can be exploited remotely over the network by accessing the web interface. No credentials for tenants or operators are required, enabling unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary commands.

According to the advisory released on July 27, exploitation of the vulnerability has already been observed in the wild. If successfully leveraged, the issue can compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the VeloCloud Orchestrator itself as well as any data it manages.

Furthermore, a breach of the orchestrator may allow attackers to gain access to associated VeloCloud Edge devices deployed throughout the customer environment.

The vulnerability received the highest possible base score of 10.0 under both CVSSv4.0 and CVSSv3.1, placing it in the Critical severity category.
