Biomemory Launches Early Access for DNA Shield DNA-Based Offline Data Protection Service
French company Biomemory has introduced DNA Shield, its first commercial managed service that stores highly critical data in synthetic DNA for long-term offline retention. The offering targets organizations seeking protection against cyber attacks, infrastructure changes, regulatory audits, AI advances, and quantum computing threats. Data undergoes encryption and encoding into synthetic DNA before being placed in managed offline storage, with recovery available only through a controlled, non-self-service process. Initial use cases include cryptographic key continuity, industrial intellectual property preservation, regulated integrity records, and sovereign golden records. The launch follows Biomemory’s March 2026 acquisition of Catalog Technologies assets in Boston and the July 2026 appointment of Laurent Guengant as CEO. DNA Shield is currently available through an Early Access Program as the first step in the company’s longer-term Molecular IT roadmap, which plans general data storage capabilities from 2029 onward.
